After last month’s announcement that Gamescom would be digital only for this year, things remained quiet up until today. The official schedule for Gamescom has been revealed with it taking place from August 27 to the 30. The content hub from the previous year(Gamescom Now) will be expanded and will feature “world premieres, news, games, and events.” On August 27, Geoff Keighley will return with his Opening Night Live Showcase which is a E-3 like showcase at the start of Gamescom. Other presentations taking place on Gamescom will be the Awesome Indies, Gamescom Daily Show, and Gamescom Studio. The Awesome Indies showcase will, as the title refers to, focus on indies titles from small developers. Gamescom Daily Show will expand on the highlights from the show itself and other partner companies. Gamescom Studio will be interviews with developers on their games. Finally, the show will close with the Gamescom: Best of Show where there will be a summary of this year’s Gamescom events along with the presentation of the Gamescom Award. Further details on the individual formats of Gamescom 2020 will be announced at a later date. Are you guys excited for another digital event? Comment below and let me know.
