Sony Sets New Marvel Movie For 2021

It seems like Sony wants to keep pushing their Marvel movies as a new release date for an untitled movie was revealed on social media. According to the Twitter account, @ERCboxoffice, an “Untitled Sony/Marvel pic now set for Oct. 8, 2021.”  This movie should not be confused with the next Tom Holland MCU movie which is slated for July 6, 2021. So this begs the question, what is this movie? It is too early for another Venom movie since Venom 2 is still filming and it comes out this year so the timetable is too fast. A Morbius 2 also seems unlikely since that movie hasn’t premiered yet so Sony doesn’t know the reaction that Morbius is going to get. Most likely, this new upcoming film is based on another Spider-Man supporting character that is going to get a chance to be in the spotlight. The question now is which one though? There were rumors of a Silver Sable/Black Cat project but the project has been reworked to be two different films. It could also be Madame Web(hell of a deep-cut there) movie that has been rumored since last year. Daniel Richtman(known Marvel insider) has chimed in this by saying that it is possibly a Spider-Woman movie. That would make sense since Spider-Woman is one of the most well-known Marvel characters that Sony has the film rights to. All of this speculation and rumors come after the surprise reveals in the Morbius trailer that Sony’s Marvel Universe is maybe part of the MCU by referencing Spider-Man’s status in the MCU and by having Michael Keaton possibly reprise his role as the Vulture from the MCU. Neither Marvel Studios or Sony have confirmed or denied these theories so it is still up in the air whenever the Sony Marvel films are in the MCU. What do you guys think about the recent news of another Sony Marvel flick? Unhappy about the possible connection between MCU and Sony’s Marvel Universe? Comment below and let me know.
